Distinction of the Day: Integrated vs Compartmentalized
Integrated means that all parts of the person’s life work together in concert, resulting in an effortless, fulfilled, and enjoyable life. Work becomes play. Relationships become community. The present becomes perfect. Integration is possible when one eliminates those people, places or things that no longer fit in their value system.
A compartmentalized client is one who must keep personal and business life separate. They are often addicts or compulsive people. For someone who is compartmentalized, life is like a maze with continual dead ends that force them to use immense effort to jump over the walls. There is no flow.
Tip: Blast out the walls of the maze and you’ll come up with an integrated life.
