Creativity begets creativity

I’ve been doing quite a bit of blog and newsletter writing lately and I’ve learned something very interesting that I didn’t really know before: Creativity begets creativity!!

I think I’ve always been afraid that if I allow the words and messages out, I’d soon dry up and would have nothing left to say.

To my surprise, what I’ve found out is that the more I write, the more ideas for articles I have. It seems that creating room in my brain actually allows space for new inspiration. Lately, I’ve been waking up in the middle of the night with ideas for articles, as well as the first couple of paragraphs.

I’ve had to put a pad of paper near the bed to capture these thoughts as I’ve learned the hard way that getting up and going to the pc to get these thoughts down tends to wake me up and keep me up. And, trust me, being overtired puts a damper on creativity!! :)

This insight is true & accurate! The more I paint, the more paintings start popping into my mind…it also happens with the articles I write. The editor asked me to branch out a bit…in May we are going to China & Bali & she asked me to write about it….I have never written about travel so I guess we’ll see what happens. I’ll just give it a try, hopefully i’ll find a way to write about that travel that won’t be boring.

When you are still & quiet is when a lot of knowledge can come into your mind to be creative…which is why so often it happens right before you go to sleep or you wake up with ideas.
